On February 27th, the first national "think tank" for the provincial transportation industry was formally established in Nanjing. The “Society of Comprehensive Transportation of Jiangsu” was formally announced by the Party Secretary for Jiangsu Province, Mr Lou Qinjian, along with Governor Wu Zhenglong.
A leading member of Jiangsu’s Standing Committee and Director of the Publicity Department, Mr Wang Yanwen, along with Director of Jiangsu’s Transportation society, Mr Shi Heping jointly unveiled the new association.
Chairman Weng Mengyong of China Highway & Transportation Society and Vice Governor Fei Gaoyun attended the meeting and delivered speeches. JSTI Vice President Zhang Haijun, Chief Engineer Wang Jiaqiang, and Chief Engineer in Water Transportation Wu Haigen of JSTI Group’s Transportation Planning and Design Institute also attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed new technologies in the industry along with management measures for membership and election of elected counselors, executive counselors, supervisors and other executives of the newly created society. JSTI Chairman Fu Guanhua, President Li Dapeng, Vice President Zhang Haijun, Chief Engineer Wu Haigen from the Water Transportation department of the JSTI Transportation Planning and Design Institute were elected as the inaugural executive counselors. Furthermore, Vice President Zhang Haijun was elected as a counselor, and Vice Chairman Wang Junhua was elected a member of the board of supervisors.
The Society of Comprehensive Transportation for Jiangsu Province brings together a wide range of experts from within the industry including top scholars and leading talents, covering all areas of comprehensive transportation in the province. After the founding of the Society, which will focus on the development of comprehensive transportation, intelligent transportation, green transportation and safe transportation construction in Jiangsu, it will carry out research on industrial development and technological innovation, academic exchange and promotion, technical consultation, qualification demonstration and personnel education and training to build a brand new think tank for the modern transportation industry. The Society aims to operate under the guiding principles of industrial development, statistics, self-regulation, which all play a role in promoting the development of the industry.
JSTI Group will give its full support to the development of the society, making use of its own advantage of being a multinational company. Further, JSTI will share their wisdom and strength to help speed up the construction of a strong provincial transportation network whilst helping leading Chinese technologies to expand internationally.
