The General Secretariat of the Regional Ministry of Public Works of Castilla-La Mancha has awarded Eptisa a new service contract for the study and development of a Road Safety Plan in the road network of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha.       Eptisa will focus its services mainly on three activities. It will start identifying and analysing the Accident Concentration Sections (ACS) using the data of the last five years as well as their dangerousness. It will also carry out the characterization and study of potentially dangerous areas, as those in which by the existing accidents, could be transformed in ACS in the future. Moreover, Eptisa will identify and analyse the sections of high potential for safety improvement, as established in Spanish Royal Decree 345/2011, of March 11, and in Circular Order 30/2012, relating to the management and procedures for the management of road infrastructure safety in the State road network.

In all of them, the typology of the accidents occurred will be studied, as well as the physical and geometric characteristics of each section, in order to propose actions to be carried out in each one of them and to minimize accidents as much as possible in the area.

Eptisa will also be responsible for carrying out annual accident and efficacy studies to review the evolution of the accident rate in the sections where previous road safety plans have been carried out, analysing the effectiveness of the measures and proposing new ones in the event that be necessary. In addition, it will provide assistance to the Roads Service of the General Directorate of Roads and Transportation for the road safety information management.
