JSTI ∣ Foresight into the Future: JSTI Holds 2017 Review Meeting

      On February 2nd, the 2017 Annual JSTI review meeting was held in the JSTI Nanjing Design Center with the theme being “Foresight into the Future”. More than 300 management leaders from various departments, business divisions, subsidiaries in mainland China and from overseas attended the meeting, which was hosted by JSTI Vice President, He Miao.

      The meeting was opened by Director of the JSTI Operations Department for Jiangsu, followed by speeches including the Deputy Chief Engineer of the Testing & Research Institute, Director of the Structure Monitoring Center, Vice President of the Transportation Planning & Design Institute, General Manager of the Southwest Center and Vice President of the Strategic Development Institute. All delivered keynote speeches discussing topics such as the regional marketing layout, creation of a technological platform, construction of a localized production center, and the future development of transportation.
      Other speakers at the meeting included:
     
      Each spoke in turn about the various achievements of their teams over the past 12 months, highlighting key financial information, specific strategies along with outlining their vision and goals for the forthcoming year.
      President Li Dapeng thanked all colleagues for their hard work over the past year whilst receiving and summarising the work and achievements throughout 2017. The key areas of his speech focused on general company performance, brand management, technology and project management, talent cultivation and company culture. He then analyzed the opportunities and challenges that JSTI Group would face in 8 major areas, including increasing competition for PPP contracts, environmental business development, "One Belt, One Road", overseas business, artificial intelligence and big data.


      Vice Chairman of the Board, Wang Junhua spoke about "Meeting the Challenges ahead". He said 2017 was a year to be proud of for JSTI Group and that the company had continued to rise up the ENR rankings in every category where JSTI is listed. Vice Chairman Wang noted that the group’s two overseas subsidiaries were constantly exploring opportunities and that the international development of JSTI had made significant progress. Finally, Vice Chairman Wang looked at support for the future development of JSTI and proposed that new elements should be injected into the existing business to promote new growth and achieve strategic breakthroughs.


      Chairman of the Board, Fu Guanhua said that the development of JSTI in 2017 had surpassed his expectations and gave him further belief in the strength of the company’s abilities. Chairman Fu noted that JSTI’s “business partner plan” had been established to encourage and attract aspirational talents and teams to join hands with JSTI in helping to further develop the industry. At the same time, Chairman Fu warned everyone not to rest on their laurels, despite the impressive achievements of 2017. To illustrate this point, Chairman Fu used the saying " old maps can not help find New Worlds". He called on colleagues to continue seeking change, striving for innovation and personal development to further encourage the development of JSTI in 2018.

      The future will bring many new opportunities and challenges for JSTI Group. As such, the group must become more aware of chances to seize growth opportunities with more nuanced strategic insight, along with an ability to respond quicker to changes in the market. This will help drive value creation, management efficiency and help JSTI become industry leaders. Closing his speech, Chairman Fu encouraged his colleagues to be full of confidence and self-belief whilst never forgetting their own core values. “Let us brave the future and let us welcome 2018 together.”
