JSTI|Project "BIM Design for the Shuanglong Street Parking Lot of Nanjing Metro Line 6" Won Second Prize in 5th Jiangsu Building Information Model (BIM) Application Contest in the Survey & Design Industry

25-Feb-2019
Recently, in the 5th Jiangsu Building Information Model (BIM) Application Contest in the Survey & Design Industry, the project "BIM Design for the Shuanglong Street Parking Lot of Nanjing Metro Line 6" declared by the JSTI Rail Transit Design Institute won the second prize. This award-winning work represents the advanced level of BIM technology application in the survey and design industry in Jiangsu Province.

Shuanglong Street Parking Lot has a total land area of 81,208 m2, as well as a gross floor area of 24,709.53 m2. The base includes multiple buildings such as the application warehouse, the comprehensive building and the material warehouse. Since the collaborative design of this project is difficult, the project size is large and the design cycle is long, JSTI team employs the BIM technology to create a new model of intuitive, vivid and efficient 3D visualized dynamic management in response to the difficulties of this project, which achieves precise control of engineering quality among other aspects, and injects new technological power into vehicle base design.
The Flow Chart of Collaborative Design

In the design process of this project, the Alibaba Cloud server and the private VPN provided by Oray are employed in an innovative way to realize the collaborative design in the WAN environment, which greatly saves the cost of the local physical server. The 3D layout display animation rendered and synthesized by the BIM technology can visually analyze the spatial relationship in the vehicle base to make the overall layout more reasonable. At the same time, the plug-in independently developed by the team can perceive the net high tension area in advance in the professional design process of the equipment in order to avoid large equipment and pipelines, and achieve the purpose of optimizing the design and avoiding the design changes in the late stage.
